Setting Yourself Apart
Setting Yourself Apart
The most feared question for a rookie agent (or almost any agent for that matter): "How long have you been in real estate?" How do you take the fear out of getting this question MARKET KNOWLEDGE and PREPARATION! The more you know and the more you prepare - the less chance you have of ever getting that dreaded question.
What do you need to know? This is divided into 2 categories: general and neighborhood specific.
General:
Neighborhood Specific (this is in addition to the general section, but for that specific neighborhood that you are targeting) Why would you want to know each of the statistics above? It WILL set you apart from 99% of the other agents in your area - they simply don't take the time to find these stats. So, where do you find this info? Do you receive a realtor association magazine or newsletter each month? For the General Statistics, look in there - most of these stats are listed. Your association or MLS may even publish this info in the paper each month (if they do - wouldn't it be embarrassing to walk into a listing appointment and have the seller ask you stats questions and they know the answer, but you don't!). You may also want to take a look at your MLS system - most of those also publish these stats. For the Neighborhood Specific Statistics - you will have to do a little more research and break out your calculator. Don't panic - it's easy math! Give me a call and I'll help you with this info.
